Pleated Tales is a series of circular folded works, drawing on the meditative symmetry of mandalas, the elegance and drama of handmade fans, the unfolding narratives of concertina books, and the richness of ornamentation across cultures. The circle itself carries deep symbolism—suggesting wholeness, continuity, and the cyclical nature of time—inviting the viewer into a space of reflection and renewal.

As with much of my work, these pieces are deeply inspired by both the natural world and objects shaped by the human hand: shifting colors, lush textures, unexpected harmonies, and the quiet perfection found in imperfection. The imagery originates from my own practice in painting, photography, cyanotype, eco-printing, and collage, coming together in singular, one-of-a-kind pieces that invite both contemplation and wonder.
